Simon Jackman of Stanford University, Lynn Vavreck of UCLA, and Doug Rivers of Stanford University and YouGovPolimetrix would like to invite you to participate in the Cooperative Campaign Analysis Project (CCAP) during this presidential election cycle. Like the Cooperative Congressional Election Study (CCES) fieled in 2006, this project aims to bring together scholars (or groups of scholars) from Universities around the world.

CCAP is planned to be a six wave panel with roughly 20,000 people completing all six waves. The sample will be representative at the state level and oversample battleground and early primary states. Waves are planned for December, January, March, August, October, and November (post-election). Individuals or teams will get December 2007, November 2008, and one interim wave of data. Additional waves can be added. As with all our Cooperative projects, a portion of each interview will be reserved for your individual content — 10 minutes (approximately 40 questions) on the January through October waves and 5 minutes (20 questions) on the post-election wave. The December 2007 wave serves as a baseline and will have no individual or team content. The Common Content of CCAP (the first 10 minutes of the interviews) will focus on the presidential primaries and general election.

This year, YouGovPolimetrix has developed a number of new online tools to make data collection on the Internet visually interesting and easier for respondents. The web's graphic, audio, and streaming video capabilities provide endless opportunities for unique research designs. Click on this link to see a demonstration of the widgets that are available for you to use in your YouGovPolimetrix survey.

The PDF provides more detailed information about the project. If you are interested in participating in CCAP, please contact us by November 15th. The January through October waves will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so if the timing of your study is important to your design, please contact Lynn Vavreck (lynn@polimetrix.com) as soon as possible so you can be guaranteed the wave you need.
